WVCHIP Community Partner Agencies
There are several agencies and
organizations that are committed
to helping WVCHIP provide information
about low-cost health
care to working families. They
are also able to help you complete
an application online or just answer
a question about the program.
Click here for a list of community partner agencies in your area. To learn more about becoming a community partner, view slide show or call RAPIDS at (304)348-0899.
WVCHIP Outreach Events
Occasionally, activities
are coordinated throughout the State to promote
WVCHIP. To find an event near
you, click here on the outreach
calendar.
WVCHIP Literature
If you would like to order applications,
brochures or other printed promotional
items to conduct outreach in your
county for WVCHIP, click here for an order form. Trinkets, such as toothbrushes, pens, pencils, etc. are no longer available.
Volunteers
WVCHIP is always looking for volunteers
to help promote WVCHIP at outreach
events through out the State.
High school students may be able
to use their volunteer service
towards community service hours
for class credit (please see your
High School Community Service
Coordinator/Teacher). If you would
like to volunteer for WVCHIP,
please complete the volunteer
form and return to the WVCHIP
office.
Scheduling WVCHIP for
Your Event, Business, School or
Place of Worship
WVCHIP welcomes opportunities
to visit communities in West Virginia
to educate families about low-cost health insurance and health prevention. Representatives
from the WVCHIP office or Volunteer Speakers Bureau are available
to speak.
If you would like a WVCHIP representative to speak to families
at your business, school or place
of worship, please call the WV CHIP office at (304)558-2732.
Faith-based Outreach
Religious congregations provide
an established network that reaches
deep into the community. Religious
organizations also have a moral
viewpoint to embrace important
issues that affect children and
families. If your place of worship
would like to promote WVCHIP,
please request a WVCHIP outreach
training workshop to learn how
to implement outreach in your
congregation and/or community.
WVCHIP has developed two great
tools, such as the faith-based
resource guide and the program
outreach manual to help faith
communities combine efforts with
WVCHIP in spreading the word to
thousands of families about low-cost
health care coverage. Click here for the faith-based outreach order form.
Business Outreach
Today, more business owners are
not able to provide affordable
full medical coverage to their
employees. Employers have the
perfect opportunity to promote
WVCHIP to their employees and
customers through payroll stuffers,
websites, bulletin boards and
more. Learn how your business
can benefit children by developing
a partnership with WVCHIP in our
Working with Businesses Factsheet.
School-based Outreach
There is no better place to start
reaching families than in your
local school system. Educators
and parent teacher associations
know better than anyone that a
healthy start in life is essential
for getting children ready to
learn. WVCHIP can help children
reach their potential inside as
well as outside the classroom.
Learn how you can promote WVCHIP
in your school by reading Outreach
Options for Schools or schedule
an outreach workshop for school
personnel. You may also start
your outreach effort by just completing
the school-based outreach order
form.
Provider Outreach
Each day doctors, dentists, optometrists
and pharmacists see families that
are without health care. Providers
can help promote WVCHIP by having
materials available in their waiting
area and counseling patients about
insurance opportunities during
an office visit. Ask your doctor
to help promote WVCHIP by giving
them a copy of the provider outreach
order form and the Working with
Providers Factsheet.
